Old Operating Theatre and Herb Garret Object handling Session at FNM

Wednesday 21st August

Do you want to know more about the local history of London? Are you looking for a hands on learning experience this August?

The Old Operating Theatre is the oldest surviving surgical theatre in Europe housed in the attic of the early 18th century church of the old St Thomas’ Hospital. The museum features the original timber framed Herb Garret once used to dry and store herbs for patients’ medicines and in 1822 an operating theatre was included.

Join us at the Florence Nightingale Museum as staff and volunteers are come to share historic objects and make pomander bags using dried herbs.

Drop In-Sessions run from 1:00pm-4:00pm.

Admission to event is included within General Admission Ticket.

Tickets are available for purchase online or in person.
