Volunteer With Us
Our volunteers are incredibly valuable in bringing the museum’s collections to life, enhancing the visitor experience and contributing to the smooth running of the museum’s operations.
We endeavour to provide our volunteers with interesting, enjoyable and worthwhile opportunities which include engaging with visitors, leading tours, object handling, supporting school, family and community programmes, museum projects and exhibitions.
The Florence Nightingale Museum is very grateful for the support and hard work of its volunteers who add value to the museum team and the visitor experience, performing supportive and complementary tasks.
We value the time and skills of our volunteers and strive to provide a fulfilling and enjoyable experience. Our roles are intended to inspire and benefit the volunteer as much as they support the museum.
We will provide full training appropriate to the volunteer role. We encourage volunteers to learn and develop new skills and will provide them with the opportunity to do so. Many volunteers describe how their confidence increased as a result of their volunteering, especially through interacting and engaging with the public.
