Please donate now to help the Florence Nightingale Museum survive. Nursing, washing your hands and evidence based-healthcare, all pioneered by Florence Nightingale, have become more important than ever before and we’re calling upon our friends and supporters to help us preserve her story and legacy. The Florence Nightingale Museum is a small independent charity celebrating the life and work of the best known figure in nursing history. Our NHS nurses are doing an incredible job on the front line fighting Covid-19; we’re here to preserve and celebrate the memory of one of our most loved nurses. Florence Nightingale was one of our greatest Victorians, the founder of modern nursing, a healthcare pioneer and a female icon and we’re looking for your help to continue telling her story and the wider story of our nurses and healthcare professionals in the future. Why we need your help Research suggests that, like 2020, this year is going to be very difficult for our sector due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Tourism has dropped dramatically and school visits are unlikely to occur until later in 2021…sadly two of our key visitor demographics. Research also suggests that most people are not yet ready to start returning to visitor attractions. Your generous support has helped us through closure so far, and now we’re fundraising for our future. We’re continuing our fundraising campaign to help us ride out the storm when visitation can return to more normal levels. It is not an easy step to ask for help. We know and understand that this crisis has put many people and workplaces in financial difficulty. We know that there are people who care about Florence’s legacy, and we’re asking people to donate whatever they can to keep Florence’s memory alive – even small donations are wholeheartedly welcome so that we can continue our purpose as a museum to care for a historically significant collection and to inspire the next generation of healthcare workers. Every donation, no matter what the size, is welcome and will help us continue our purpose as a museum to care for a historically significant collection and to inspire the next generation of healthcare workers. Text NIGHTINGALE to 70085 to donate £10 Texts cost £10 plus one standard rate message and you’ll be opting in to hear more about our work and fundraising via telephone and SMS. If you’d like to give £10 but do not wish to receive marketing communications, text NIGHTINGALENOINFO to 70085. Support us Please help to secure the legacy of Florence, her work and the future of the Museum. The Florence Nightingale Museum is an independent museum and private charity. We receive no government funding and therefore rely on the generosity and goodwill of those who support us. Support can range from one-off donations or volunteering your time here at the Museum. All types of support are valued and help us realise a wide variety of projects and activities.
