Our volunteers are incredibly valuable in bringing the museum’s collections to life, enhancing the visitor experience and contributing to the smooth running of the museum’s operations.

We are looking for new members to add to our amazing team!

There are a variety of different roles available for our volunteers and everyday is different. Some of the tasks will be

• Assisting with KS1 school groups (Term time weekdays only)
• Leading object handling sessions
• Leading tours and talks
• Answering visitors questions
• Assisting with events and performances
• Assisting with family and holiday activities
• Ensuring a tidy welcoming space

We will provide full training appropriate to the volunteer role. We encourage volunteers to learn and develop new skills and will provide them with the opportunity to do so. Many volunteers describe how their confidence increased as a result of their volunteering, especially through interacting and engaging with the public.

Our next volunteer recruitment day Sunday 11th October from 12.00 – 1.30pm.
