Julie Dobbs

Julie Dobbs is a beloved nurse, educator and mentor who retired in May 2025 after a 38-year career in nursing. Julie is a proud graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire nursing program.  Julie launched her career in the oncology specialty at St Joseph’s Hospital in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Julie is a role model for lifelong learning. She took on roles as a charge nurse, preceptor, and earned her oncology certification, as well as becoming one of the select few chosen for the hospital’s bone marrow transplant team. Over time, Julie found her calling in education and became the unit educator for inpatient and outpatient oncology.  Her passion for education continued as she became the Director of Nursing Education for Wheaton/then Ascension-North Market, Director then Vice President of Nursing Education at Aurora Health Care, now Advocate Health.

Along the way, Julie earned her master’s degree in nursing and achieved her specialty certification in Nursing Professional Development, which she maintained throughout her career. Julie has the perfect blend of critical thinking, influence, and quiet leadership that elevates everyone around her. Julie raised a beautiful family with her husband (Jim) and they are now grandparents to Charlie and Layton. Julie loves family and traveling and will have a lot more time to do that in her next chapter.  Thank You, Julie for all the wisdom, insight, and seeds you have planted along the way!
