Jeannette Stevens
This is my mum, Jeannette Stevens. She began her nursing career when she was 17 years old in 1972. My mum ventured into many different areas of nursing, such as outpatients, being on the ward, being on the onward care team in the community, but her defining work place was in the Emergency Department, or casualty as it was called then, which spanned a 20 year career which she loved.
My mum is a wonderful nurse, and her colleagues loved to work with her due to her dedication and thorough loved for the job. This work ethic she passed onto me, her daughter, as I have taken up the same vocation. The NHS will truly miss such a valuable, kind and passionate nurse. Especially after 47 years service.
Hope you enjoy your retirement mum.
