Dr. Celia Hay

Dr. Celia Hay entered the world of nursing when she completed the Nursing Diploma Program at Piedmont Hospital School of Nursing in Atlanta, Georgia in 1975. Upon graduation, she began her nursing career at West Georgia Medical Center now Wellstar West Georgia, where she would spend most of her clinical professional nursing tenure wearing many hats. She began as nurse manager, moving up to Head Nurse of Orthopedics, she served as Nurse manager for Labor & Delivery, Post-Partum. From there to Case Management Coordinator to Clinical Nurse Specialist and Outcomes Coordinator.

In 1995, Dr. Hay earned her Master of Science in Nursing degree from Georgia State University and in 1996 she joined the LaGrange College Nursing Faculty. In 2005, she earned the degree of Doctor of Philosophy from Georgia State and from 2004 until 2019, she served as the LaGrange College Chair of the Department of Nursing. All who know her would agree that her love for nursing and for preparing students to become nurses, was at the forefront of all that she did. She has touched so many lives, lives of patients, lives of students and lives of those fortunate to have worked with her.
