Perseverance Curator
(Maternity Cover- 12 months fixed term)
The Perseverance Curator is responsible for all aspects of collections management of the Florence Nightingale Museum’s ACE accredited collection. The post holder will be responsible for day-to-day collections management including environmental monitoring, loans in and out and cleaning.
As the curatorial lead, the post holder will also use the unique collection to inspire and engage audiences. The postholder has the opportunity to take leadership on our successful temporary exhibition programme, undertaking research and development and working with partner organisations to expand the stories we are telling. They will work alongside the director to ensure exhibitions are delivered on time and to budget.
The role is funded by a historic endowment from the Perseverance Trust. The purpose of the role is to educate and inspire the next generation of healthcare professionals. As part of the role, the post holder is expected to deliver tours and talks for students alongside exhibitions and actively promote Nightingale’s legacy.
As part of a small team, the post holder is expected to support day to day operations.
