Pupils will meet an actress in the role of Florence Nightingale and experience a performance where Miss Nightingale will describe her life, why she went to the Crimea, how she made it better for the soldiers and nurses, and what happened as a result of her work.

Miss Nightingale will bring with her a replica costume for a Crimean nurse and a Soldier’s uniform that can be tried on along with a selection of objects from the museum’s handling collection.

The whole group will engage with Miss Nightingale’s performance. They will then be split into groups to try on the costumes and experience the handling collection and complete a mystery object sheet. Miss Nightingale will give two performances, one in the morning and one in the afternoon.
