Florence Nightingale was a prolific letter writer as well as being the author of over 200 books and pamphlets. She wrote on many subjects and to many individuals. Florence Nightingale was also definitely a cat lover. During her life she owned more than sixty, and over fifteen at the same time! This quote comes from a letter written by Nightingale on the 10th of December 1863 to noted statistician and epidemiologist William Farr.
