Come and meet Miss Nightingale. She'll tell you how she became a nurse against her parents' wishes and how she became known as the 'Lady with the Lamp'. You'll even get to meet her pet owl! Florence Nightingale was as famous as Queen Victoria in her own lifetime and is still celebrated today.

Join Miss nightingale for a storytelling session in our new Family Corner. Dress up as a nurse and discover how Florence made hospitals better for patients and nurses and how she still inspires people today.

Meet Mary Seacole

Meet Mary Seacole to discover more about her exciting life and how she helped soldiers during the Crimean War. She lived in Jamaica as a Doctress and then travelled all the way to the Crimea to use her skills helping the wounded soldiers. In 2004 she was voted the greatest Black Briton.
