Nursing & Midwifery

Trevor Clay, 1936-1994

Display No. 10

Trevor Clay was a British nurse and former General Secretary of the Royal College of Nursing.

Much like Nightingale, Clay was a campaigner and, during his time as General Secretary, fought successfully for a pay review for nurses. He also used his influence to educate the public and politicians on the importance of nurses playing an active role in management.
