Sergeant Colodia Muzvidziwa was nominated by the Florence Nightingale Foundation. She is a critical care nurse in the Queen Alexandra’s Royal Army Nursing Corps. She has provided nursing care around the world including Afghanistan, Sierra Leone, South Sudan and Zambia. She was awarded the Associate Royal Red Cross in the 2019 New Year’s Honours list.

Nightingale is respected worldwide for her pioneering role in developing the nursing profession, her statistical work, and her evidence-based approach to healthcare. In honour of her bicentenary the World Health Organisation have named 2020 the Year of the Nurse and Midwife.
