The Isle of Man Post Office has issued a set of stamps to mark the WHO designating 2020 Year of the Nurse & Midwife in honour of Florence Nightingale’s bicentenary.
The collection celebrates eight of the primary disciplines of nursing or midwifery professional would undertake and the full collection can be found at www.iompost.com/nurses
The issue was developed alongside the Isle of Man’s Department of Health and Social Care, who assisted in sharing their expertise and knowledge of Nursing . The stamps feature imagery of influential Nursing figures from the Isle of Man; Nelly Brennan, Esther Jane Bridson and Sarah Forester, as well as the Lady with the Lamp, Florence Nightingale. Funds raised from sales of this issue will be in aid of the Community Nursing Charitable Trust, a Manx charity set up to provide funding for the continued development of local nurses and midwives.
