Centenaire de L’École Florence Nightingale, France, 1884-1984

Display No. 77

This French commemorative bronze medallion celebrates the centenary of L’École Florence Nightingale which was established in 1884 in Bordeaux, France.

It is also another example of Nightingale’s famous lamp being inaccurately represented as an oil lamp rather than the Turkish lamp she would have used.
