Nursing Ancestors and the First World War

31st July 2014 11am – 1pm and 2pm – 4pm

This session is included in the museum ticket price and there is no need to book.

Genealogist Emma Jolly will be on hand to give advice at this free drop-in session. Explore the wartime experiences of your nursing relative and learn how to trace her career, where to look for sources and how to find out more. Example documents and relevant computer databases will be on hand. Topics to explore include VAD nurses, military nurses, service records, medals and war graves. Please bring whatever details you have of your nursing ancestor - or feel free to ask general questions.

Emma Jolly is a genealogist and author. She has written four books and contributes regularly to family history publications. Her latest research guide, My Ancestor was a Woman at War, was published earlier this year by the Society of Genealogists.
