Public Guided Tour

Every Wednesday 3.30-4pm (apart from school holidays). 

Free tour by a member of staff of the highlights of the collection. 



As well as school groups we also welcome pre-booked group visits, including Higher Eduction, U3A groups and Foreign Language groups.  


Group bookings and admission prices 

Groups of over 15 are required to book their visit to the museum. We only accept group bookings after 2pm during school term time, as we have school groups in the museum between 10am - 2pm.


If you are visiting with a pre-booked group of 10 or more, we offer discounted admission:

Group rate - Adults £5.30

Group rate - Concessions £4.00

Group rate - Children under 16 £2.90


Talks and Guided tours for groups

We are able to offer either a talk by the Director or a guided tour of the museum by a memeber of staff. Talks and tours must be booked in advance and will depend on availability. Talks and tours are not available at the weekend.

30 minute guided tour - £30 (Maximum of 15 people per tour)

Free introductory talk (5-10 minutes)

Hiring the Museum

The Florence Nightingale Museum is the perfect venue for hosting receptions or holding small meetings, seminars and lectures.


Hire of the whole museum costs £225 (+VAT) per hour with a minimum two hour hire.

The multifunctional/meeting room costs £125 (+VAT) per hour with a minimum two hour hire.

How to find us

The Museum is a short walk from the Houses of Parliament, the London Eye and attractions along the South Bank. We are located in the grounds of St Thomas' Hospital, at parking level.


By underground: Westminster (on the District and Circle line) or Waterloo (on the Northern line).


The nearest railway station in London Waterloo.


Bus routes include 12, 53, 76, 77, 148, 159, 211, 341, 363, 381, 543, 507, C10, RV1


Public parking is limited at St Thomas' Hospital. The Museum is located in the Congestion Charging Zone and there is a machine in the car park where you can pay the zone fee.

We are located on the Southbank where you will find a variety of things to do.



There are no lunch facilities in the museum. There is a Mark and Spencers cafe and shop in St Thomas' Hospital along with a variety of other refreshment areas.



The Museum is fully accessible for wheelchair users and has a wheelchair accessible toilet. There is a loop system for the hard of hearing.
