The Florence Nightingale Museum is an independent museum which opened in 1989. It is based on the life of Florence Nightingale and aims to promote an understanding and appreciation of her legacy and its continuing influence on nursing and people's health. The Museum is located on the site of the original Nightingale Training School for Nurses, at St Thomas’ Hospital on London’s vibrant South Bank.
The Museum's Collections
The Museum has three main categories of objects: Objects associated with Florence Nightingale, Objects associated with the Crimean War; and Objects associated with nursing and Florence Nightingales legacy.
We have a collection of 700 letters from Florence Nightingale and other related papers, on deposit at the London Metropolitan Archives.
