New Florence Nightingale Museum
We are creating a new Florence Nightingale Museum in time to celebrate the centenary of Florence Nightingale’s death in 2010.

The new museum will tell the story of a courageous woman who breaks through the social restrictions of her time to find her calling, becoming an inspiration to many. Visiting the new Florence Nightingale Museum will be an experience to share and talk about.

We have raised £1 million but need £300,000 more to complete the new museum. Help us tell Florence Nightingale’s story to a new generation.

We are an independent, registered charity with no core funding.
Our collection is of national and international importance, and we welcome thousands of visitors each year. The challenge for us is to care for it and develop it for future generations.

Nursing Notes on Nursing
In October 2008 we finished our conservation health check on the collection. We have over 70 editions of Florence's 'Notes on Nursing', all of which need some level of conservation work and tender loving care to bring them back to full health for future generations to learn from and enjoy. The cost of this work will range from £100 to £250 per book, depending on its condition.

Would you like to help with our conservation work? Perhaps nurse a copy of “Notes of Nursing” in memory of a friend, colleague or loved one. We work hard to secure successful funding applications to support our work. Donations, endowments and bequests of any size are welcomed - any gift makes a difference.
